Our courteous office staff works hard to ensure patient comfort and convenience. To help you better understand our office operations, we have included the information you need about our hours, locations, appointments, insurance acceptance and billing below.

If you need to schedule an appointment for your child please call us at (785) 235-0335. You will be connected with someone from our reception staff, who can schedule your child’s Well Visit, Sports Physical, or School Physical. We will schedule an appointment at your convenience whenever possible. If the preferred doctor’s schedule is full, you may be given the opportunity of seeing another physician or nurse practitioner. If your child is sick or you need to speak with a nurse please leave your name, patients name and a good call back number with our receptionist. A message will be given to the nurse and you will receive a call back from your Pediatricians nurse. Please understand that we receive many different calls throughout each day, and will do our best to return calls in the order they were received.
What to do in an emergency
Emergencies can happen at all hours. When they occur quickly gather facts. Be ready with information about temperature, alertness, vomiting, diarrhea, bleeding or other symptoms. For a life-threatening emergency - DIAL 911

Our phones are answered 24 hours a day:
If you have an urgent concern after office hours, you can still call us at (785) 235-0335. Follow the telephone prompts to leave a message, and our On-Call Phone Nurse will assist you with your situation and determine if your child needs to be seen promptly by a doctor. After 10:00pm our phones are answered by Children’s Mercy Hospital answering service.
Children needing services without direct physician contact:
Such as strep screens, immunizations, weight checks and suture removal, are worked in between scheduled appointments during the hours of 9 am-11 am and 1 pm - 4 pm. Please call and schedule if these services are needed.
Canceling an appointment:
If you are unable to keep your appointment, please cancel as far in advance as possible. We appreciate the opportunity to utilize that time for another patient.
We require 24 hour notice for cancellation of an appointment. You may be charged a $25.00 fee if you do not give notice.

At Pediatric Associates, we request payment at the time of the visit. This helps reduce the total cost of your children’s health care. If your visit is covered by a participating health insurance plan, we will accept your co-pay and file the claim to your insurance. Please bring a copy of your child’s current insurance card to the appointment. Pediatric Associates accepts payments in Cash, Check, and Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard, & Discover). Interest: 1.5% per month interest may be charged on all balances greater than 60 days.
